From "Moreover, Śāri[putra]" onward, second, demonstrating the marks based on the fruition. This also has two parts: first, the adornment of greater and lesser disciples; second, the adornment of non-retrogression among those born there. When adornment was mentioned previously, it was the adornment of Sukhāvatī; when adornment is mentioned here, it is the adornment of the Limitless One. The words are the same, but the meanings are distinct. Thus, the disciples are his assistants, and those born there are his people. Since both are limitless, they cause the Dharma King to be named Limitless. Looking back, there are four meanings in total: first, light; second, lifespan; third, disciples; fourth, those born there. These four are all limitless, and therefore he is called Amitābha. The first two pertain to oneself, and the latter two pertain to others. The first text means that both śrāvaka disciples and bodhisattva disciples are all limitless. 'Śrāvakas' are called so because they hear the spoken teachings of the Four Truths and awaken to the path.
