1.55

「舍利弗！汝勿謂此鳥實是罪報所生。所以者何？彼佛國土無三惡道。舍利弗！其佛國土尚無惡道之名，何況有實？是諸眾鳥，皆是阿彌陀佛欲令法音宣流變化所作。」

"Śāriputra, do not say that these birds are genuinely born from retributions for sin. Why is this? That Buddha's land has none of the three wretched paths. Śāriputra, in that Buddha's land even the names of the wretched paths do not exist, how much less their reality! All these birds are transformed and created by Amitābha Buddha because he desires that the sounds of the Dharma be proclaimed and spread."
