案僧宗曰：六卷《泥洹》云「王為第二弟子，覺德為第一弟子。」而此言王第一者，蓋以先生彼國故耳。明駿案：第四顯弘護法者道俗二人之果報也。

Sengzong comments: The six-fascicle Nirvāṇa Sūtra says, 'The king was the second disciple, and Jñānadeva was the first disciple.' But here it says the king was the first, probably because he was born in that country first. Mingjun comments: The fourth section, revealing the retributions of the two persons, cleric and lay, who propagated and protected the Dharma.
