案法瑤曰：此釋奉持義也。後〈四相品〉明修行經教，亦奉持義也。明駿案：答流通之法也，下以〈四相品〉廣之。

Fayao states: This explains the meaning of upholding [the sūtra]. The subsequent "Chapter on the Four Dharmas" clarifies practicing the teachings of the sūtra, which is also the meaning of upholding. Mingjun notes: This answers [the question on] the method of propagation; below it is expanded upon by means of the "Chapter on the Four Dharmas."
