案僧亮曰：雖知而無知相也。僧宗曰：絕高下故，故言平也。無優劣故，故言等也。
Sengliang comments: Although knowing, it is without the mark of knowing. Sengzong says: Because it cuts off high and low, it is spoken of as level; because it is without superior and inferior, it is spoken of as equal.
