15.127

案僧亮曰：善有二報，一者滅惡、二者成善。此說滅惡，次說成善也。寶亮曰：第五為向者謗經人作喻，明謗法之罪。若於《大涅槃經》而懺悔者，其過必滅。亦可成前第二信人，以除惡故也。

Sengliang comments: Wholesome [actions] have two retributions: first, the eradication of evil; second, the completion of good. Here the eradication of evil is spoken of; next, the completion of good is spoken of. Baoliang says: The fifth layer creates a metaphor for those who previously slandered the sūtra, explaining the sin of slandering the Dharma. If one repents before the Mahānirvāṇa Sūtra, their faults will surely be eradicated. It can also complete the previous second type of faithful person, because of eradicating evil.
