16.122

案僧亮曰：甘藥譬內外俱細者也。雪山譬涅槃經。謂依經修行者，則表裏皆細也。餘雜藥者，譬外細內麁也。味甘相似者，一往迹細，皆生人淨心也。

Sengliang notes: The sweet medicine is an analogy for those who are fine both internally and externally. The Snow Mountains are an analogy for the Nirvāṇa Sūtra. It means that for those who cultivate in accordance with the sūtra, both exterior and interior are fine. The other miscellaneous medicines are an analogy for those who are outwardly fine but inwardly coarse. Having a similar sweet taste means that at first glance their traces are fine, all giving rise to a pure mind in people.
