案僧亮曰：知事既許弘經，於是弘通之人便有勢力。然行經求常，以淨戒為本，制惡比丘、皆除不淨物，修常住之因，譬共食也。
Sengliang comments: Once the administrator permitted the propagation of the sūtra, those who propagated it gained influence. However, practicing the sūtra to seek permanence takes pure precepts as its foundation. Restraining evil monks, removing all impure objects, and cultivating the cause of permanence are symbolized by consuming it together.
