17.25

案僧宗曰：從輕重之罪，其性皆重。自此以下，魔說律以亂正也。有七意，此第一。且一往云：言違反律教也。智秀曰：第八，謂佛不為功德所成，故身無常也。

Sengzong comments: From minor to grave offenses, their nature is uniformly grave. From this point downward, māras speak on the vinaya to disrupt the upright. There are seven purports, and this is the first. For the time being, it is stated outright: words that contradict the teachings of the vinaya. Zhixiu says: The eighth, asserting that the Buddha was not accomplished through merit, and therefore his body is impermanent.
