18.113

案僧亮曰：理說有旨，知其必自有，故喻彼自求見也。法瑤曰：應聞之機發，譬欲見也。感教由己，譬示也。僧宗曰：被物為先，後乃及己，故言亦欲見也。智秀曰：人我兼利，故云并也。

Sengliang states: The expounding of the principle has its purport; knowing that she certainly possesses it herself, it illustrates her seeking to see it herself. Fayao states: The capacity that should hear it stirs, compared to wishing to see it. The eliciting of the teaching originates from oneself, compared to showing. Sengzong states: Transforming beings comes first, and only later extends to oneself; therefore it says 'also wish to see'. Zhixiu states: Benefiting both others and oneself, it therefore says 'as well'.
