19.96

案僧亮曰：無因而計果，其事如是也。僧宗曰：夫有子在胎，故稱之懷妊，終期必在十月也。若得十地無漏，可譬懷妊。今悠悠凡夫，去果遼邈，未有信善而說有果，事同都未懷妊作生子想也。寶亮曰：下三行，寄譬以結未來三歸之難。後餘二行，更請說真歸也。

Sengliang states: To calculate a fruit without a cause—the matter is just like this. Sengzong states: Only when a child is in the womb is it called pregnancy, and the final term is inevitably in ten months. If one attains the undefiled state of the ten stages, that may be compared to pregnancy. Now, drifting ordinary persons are distant from the fruit; without faithful goodness, to speak of having the fruit is identical to thinking of giving birth to a son when not pregnant at all. Baoliang states: The three verses below use metaphors to conclude the difficulty of taking the future three refuges. The remaining two verses further request the exposition of the true refuge.
