2.83

案僧宗曰：謂聞無常解無常，聞常住亦即解也。既自通達，復為他說。寶亮曰：謂除眾生四倒之緣也。尋此而言，故知法華諸教無得道者。

Sengzong comments: This means that hearing of impermanence they understood impermanence, and hearing of permanent abiding they immediately understood it as well. Having penetrated it themselves, they again explained it for others. Baoliang says: This means the conditions for eliminating the four inversions of sentient beings. Examining this statement, one therefore knows that in the various teachings before the Saddharmapuṇḍarīka Sūtra, none had attained the Way.
