案僧亮曰：登王位者，鹿野之說也。外道計我不同，婆羅門計神白、剎利神赤、首陀神黃、旃陀羅計神黑也。時王大咲者，雙樹之說，真實相也。法瑤曰：向明四佛皆同，今明未來亦爾，略舉一耳。

Sengliang notes: "Ascending the royal throne refers to the teaching at Mṛgadāva. Non-Buddhists conceive of the self differently: Brahmins conceive of the spirit as white, kṣatriyas conceive of the spirit as red, śūdras conceive of the spirit as yellow, and caṇḍālas conceive of the spirit as black. The king laughing heartily refers to the teaching at the Twin Śāla Trees, the true characteristics." Fayao notes: "Earlier it was clarified that the four Buddhas were all the same; now it is clarified that the future will also be like this, briefly citing one."
