20.62

案僧亮曰：甘時無醋，故非有；甘為醋因，故非無也。不從他生者，定由乳出，證因義也。僧宗曰：佛自料簡，離二邊而得生酪也。上已簡不從自生，今不復釋也。

Sengliang states: When it is sweet there is no sourness, so it is not existent; sweetness is the cause of sourness, so it is not non-existent. As for 'not produced from an other,' it definitely emerges from milk, proving the meaning of cause. Sengzong states: The Buddha himself analyzes and distinguishes that, being free from both extremes, curd can be produced. Above, it was already determined that it is not produced from itself, so it is not explained again now.
