案僧宗曰：就明六行體中有三章，此第一就偏教以明常無常也。寶亮曰：上來至此總門明六行也。智秀曰：此廣門中第二，先明常無常也。

Sengzong comments: In clarifying the substance of the six practices there are three sections; this first one clarifies permanence and impermanence in terms of the partial teaching. Baoliang says: From the beginning up to here is the general gate clarifying the six practices. Zhixiu says: In the broad gate, this second part first clarifies permanence and impermanence.
