案僧亮曰：上說聲聞凡夫因有近遠，而歡喜旃陀羅在千佛數中，而不說聲聞，是則因近而更遠。何耶？
Sengliang comments: Above it was said that the causes of śrāvakas and ordinary beings have closeness and distance; yet the joyful caṇḍāla is among the thousand Buddhas, while the śrāvakas are not mentioned—this means the cause was closer but became farther. Why is this?
