24.62

案僧亮曰：化佛不食，表釋迦亦然，以顯不滅而現滅也。自受純陀所設者，為應見者有此說耳，非定爾也。僧宗曰：法身無像，應化何殊？自受純陀者，示請主有人，顯彼無宿願之異耳。智秀曰：第七事也。

Sengliang comments: That the transformation Buddha does not eat indicates that Śākyamuni is also like this, revealing that he does not perish yet manifests perishing. That he himself received what Cunda offered was only spoken for those who responded to seeing it; it is not definitively so. Sengzong says: The dharmakāya has no form; how can response and transformation differ? That he himself received from Cunda showed that the donor was a specific person, revealing that he had no difference in his past vow. Zhixiu says: This is the seventh matter.
