25.32

案僧亮曰：有罪求悔者，須受悔者歡喜也，故但隨不逆，必因受悔者而得清淨也。故不觀作以不作，要內懷重愧，知不悔為惡、悔之為善，故但自觀身善不善行。

Sengliang states: One who has sin and seeks repentance must make the confessor joyful; hence, merely following without opposing, they must attain purity by relying on the confessor. Therefore, one does not observe whether [others] act or do not act; one must internally harbor profound shame, knowing that not repenting is bad and that repenting is good; thus one only observes one's own wholesome and unwholesome conduct.
