案法瑤曰：向明知法性，今明所得功德即是受法樂矣。智秀曰：次答云何而得近最勝無上道也。明持經得功德，自然趣向無上果也。

Fayao notes: Previously he clarified knowing dharmatā; now he clarifies that the merit obtained is precisely the reception of Dharma joy. Zhixiu says: Next he answers 'How does one attain proximity to the supreme, unsurpassed path?' It clarifies that by upholding the sūtra one obtains merit and naturally advances toward the unsurpassed fruit.
