案僧亮曰：初地具檀波羅蜜，佛現身密受其供養。功行如此，故稱初地也。智秀曰：略說中第三，略付囑也。
Sengliang notes: The first ground is endowed with the dānapāramitā; the Buddha manifested his body and secretly received their offerings. Because their merits and practices were like this, it is called the first ground. Zhixiu says: In the brief exposition, this is the third: briefly conferring entrustment.
