案僧亮曰：所以總七苦更作一苦名者，人謂七苦異陰而有，今說即陰是也。僧宗曰：此第二，就八苦門廣明苦諦也。

Sengliang comments: The reason for synthesizing the seven sufferings to establish further a single name for suffering is that people think the seven sufferings exist apart from the aggregates; now it is explained that they are none other than the aggregates themselves. Sengzong comments: This second [section] broadly illuminates the truth of suffering in terms of the gateway of the eight sufferings.
