31.24

案僧亮曰：不相應者，今說八是道，昔不說八，應非道也。欲聞說道，或略或廣，皆是道也。僧宗曰：此下會通今昔也。寶亮曰：佛答諸經悉入道諦，就三因緣辯入也，一者因門、二者緣門、三者道體，不出此三也。

Sengliang comments: 'Not corresponding' means: now it is said that the eight [factors] are the path; formerly the eight were not spoken of, so they ought not to be the path. He wishes to hear the path expounded, whether briefly or broadly, all being the path. Sengzong says: From here downward, the present and past [teachings] are reconciled and integrated. Baoliang says: The Buddha answers that all sūtras enter the truth of the path; he distinguishes their entrance in terms of three causal conditions: first, the causal gate; second, the conditioning gate; third, the essence of the path—they do not go beyond these three.
