案僧亮曰：小異上譬也。從信根等至八聖道者，說一法為信，乃至八道互作其名耳。僧宗曰：第二譬意，明道雖是一，隨方施名不同耳。

Sengliang comments: This differs slightly from the preceding simile. 'From the faculty of faith and so forth up to the eight noble paths' means that a single dharma is called faith, and so on up to the eight paths, mutually providing designations for it. Sengzong says: The intent of the second simile is to clarify that although the path is one, names are applied differently according to circumstance.
