案法瑤曰：夫化物要須知時，不爾則失其機，豈成化耶？寶亮曰：第三善知修道之時，則於勝理無闕。
Fayao states: In transforming beings, one must know the proper time; otherwise, one misses their capacity—how could transformation be accomplished? Baoliang states: The third is skillfully knowing the proper time to cultivate the path, so that there is no deficiency regarding the superior principle.
