36.51

案僧宗曰：第四難。以見愛二人，應為二也。若是見行，必見利根以強救為能，故唯修慈悲。若愛行之人，志氣浮弱，必是鈍根，見人勝事唯有隨喜而已，故但有喜捨。所以但應二也。

Sengzong states: The fourth challenge. According to the two types of persons governed by views and governed by craving, there should be two. If one is governed by views, one must perceive sharp faculties and take forceful rescue as one’s ability; thus one cultivates only loving-kindness and compassion. If a person is governed by craving, their will is superficial and weak, and they are certainly of dull faculties; seeing the superior achievements of others, they merely rejoice in sympathy; thus there are only sympathetic joy and equanimity. Therefore there should only be two.
