案僧亮曰：將欲正答，且先借譬假設之辭，明不為眾生作煩惱因緣也。有兩意：前明佛實不作，後明不應說也。佉陀羅樹作炭，一燒六日乃滅，堅利傷人。

Sengliang comments: Approaching the direct response, he first employs a hypothetical simile to clarify that he does not create causes and conditions for defilement for sentient beings. There are two meanings: first, clarifying that the Buddha truly does not create them; second, clarifying that one should not say so. When khadira wood is made into charcoal, a single burning takes six days to extinguish, and its hardness and sharpness injure people.
