4.17

案寶亮曰：此言有迹有實也。迹者，若佛受我所供，餘人亦當蒙受也。實者，若所供得設便成檀度，檀度既成則能助佛揚化也。道慧記曰：大士本不自為，此乃道兼天下之辭也。

Baoliang notes: These words contain both trace and reality. As for the trace: if the Buddha accepts what I offer, other people will also receive the benefit. As for reality: if the offering is presented, it fulfills the perfection of giving (dāna-pāramitā); once the perfection of giving is fulfilled, he can assist the Buddha in propagating the transformation. The Record of Daohui says: A great being fundamentally does not act for himself; these are words whose Way encompasses the entire world.
