案僧亮曰：欲聞經故，先受解也。當久近住者，問一切佛法也。寶亮曰：此下第三就興廢為歎也，故先審後開問也。智秀曰：就此第三歎中有七翻論興廢也。

Sengliang comments: Because he wishes to hear the sūtra, he first accepts the understanding. 'For how long will it abide' inquires about all the Buddha's Dharma.
Baoliang comments: From here below is the third praise in terms of flourishing and decline; therefore he first verifies and then opens the inquiry.
Zhixiu comments: Within this third praise there are seven sections discussing flourishing and decline.
