41.40

案僧亮曰：說佛常住一句偈，是此經五行，文備稱之，是眾經之本。人能奉本，則枝條必茂，佛法未滅。

Sengliang comments: Teaching that the Buddha is permanently abiding in a single verse is what this sūtra fully sets forth in its five practices; it is the root of all sūtras. If people are able to honour the root, then the branches and leaves will surely flourish, and the Buddha's Dharma will not perish.
