41.42

案僧亮曰：經雖流布，而不能信敬，則為將滅不久也。寶亮曰：若行此經者，則其道不廢；若棄而從惡，則將滅不久也。智秀曰：第一翻明此經在故則佛法不滅，故知理攝眾典矣。

Sengliang comments: Although the sūtra is circulated, if people cannot faithfully revere it, it will before long perish.
Baoliang comments: If people practice this sūtra, then its path will not be abandoned; if they abandon it and follow evil, it will before long perish.
Zhixiu comments: The first section clarifies that because this sūtra is present, the Buddha's Dharma does not perish; thus one knows that its principle subsumes all the scriptures.
