41.58

案僧亮曰：明此經隱時，餘經亦滅也。行惡法者，惡法互起。起惡，《涅槃經》隱也。僧宗曰：廣明佛法滅不滅相，乃有十二句，合為六對。要使道俗相須，方得弘法。得失相形，互辨優劣也。智秀曰：第六翻，廣明滅不滅相。

Sengliang comments: This clarifies that when this sūtra is hidden, the other sūtras also perish. When people practice evil dharmas, evil dharmas arise mutually. When evil arises, the Nirvāṇa Sūtra becomes hidden.
Sengzong comments: Broadly clarifying the marks of the perishing and non-perishing of the Buddha's Dharma, there are twelve phrases, combined into six pairs. Only when monastics and laity rely on each other can the Dharma be propagated. Gain and loss are contrasted to distinguish superiority and inferiority.
Zhixiu comments: The sixth section broadly clarifies the marks of perishing and non-perishing.
