42.18

案僧亮曰：尼犍其字也，若提其母字也。謂因亦過去受生死，逕八萬劫苦盡，亦無善惡行道斷苦，故言無阿羅漢修道等也。僧宗曰：第六，此人計有自然解脫也。寶亮曰：自初至此，別惡友之辭。自下耆婆以去，明善知識事。

Sengliang states: Nirgrantha is his personal name, and Jñāti is his mother's name. He held that causes also lie in the past: after undergoing saṃsāra for eighty thousand kalpas, suffering is exhausted; there is also no good or evil to cultivate the Path to end suffering, hence he says there are no arhats cultivating the Path, and so on.
Sengzong says: Sixth, this person holds that there is spontaneous liberation.
Baoliang says: From the beginning up to this point are the statements of bad friends. From Jīvaka onwards, it clarifies the matter of good friends.
