42.8

案僧亮曰：彼國之俗，慰喻之偈。是以人人說之，以曉王意也。富蘭那者名也，姓迦葉，其人起斷滅之見，故云生法如是也。僧宗曰：此大邪見，謗無因果也。

Sengliang states: These were verses of consolation according to the customs of that country. Thus everyone spoke them to enlighten the king's mind. Pūraṇa is his personal name, and his clan name is Kāśyapa. That man gave rise to the view of annihilationism; therefore he says that the nature of things is just like this.
Sengzong says: This is a great false view, slanderously denying cause and effect.
