45.29

案僧亮曰：以此譬後重難也。寶亮曰：生已不生，譬聞已不聞。不生不生，譬不聞不聞也。得已不得，亦如是也。

Sengliang notes: This is an analogy for the subsequent repeated objection. Baoliang says: 'What has been born does not arise' illustrates that having heard, one does not hear. 'What does not arise does not arise' illustrates that not hearing, one does not hear. 'Having attained, one does not attain' is also like this.
