案僧亮曰：鈍根之流，才非一往，重須解釋也。上以到不到譬聞不聞，今先釋譬也。

Sengliang notes: For those of dull faculties, whose capability cannot grasp it at once, it requires further explanation. Above, reaching and not reaching were used as a metaphor for hearing and not hearing; now the metaphor is explained first.
