案僧亮曰：第一難。若斷煩惱得者，則應無常也。僧宗曰：乘聲有此難也。凡有六難，此第一，舉本無今有為徵也。寶亮曰：若是本無而今有者，云何得稱常耶？

Sengliang notes: The first objection. If it is attained by severing the afflictions, it must be impermanent. Sengzong says: This objection arises by picking up on the phrasing. There are six objections in total; this first one presents 'originally absent, now existing' as a challenge. Baoliang says: If it was originally absent and now exists, how can it be called permanent?
