46.72

案僧亮曰：涅槃不生故不可說者，以可學得，故名生也。僧宗曰：不生之法不過涅槃，尚以修道故得，豈謂不生都不生耶？寶亮曰：萬善具則得涅槃，豈可定說耶？

Sengliang says: Nirvāṇa is unborn, hence it cannot be stated, yet because it can be attained through practice, it is metaphorically called born. Sengzong says: Unborn dharmas do not surpass nirvāṇa; yet it is still attained through cultivating the Path—how could one say that the unborn is completely unborn? Baoliang says: When the myriad goods are complete, nirvāṇa is attained; how could it be stated definitively?
