案僧亮曰：明起作法，力相傾奪。起邪見斷善根入地獄，起正見則斷闡提遮地獄。佛性非起作，不能遮地獄、無常及闡提，通答前三難也。

Sengliang comments: This clarifies that active, conditioned phenomena mutually overpower one another by their force. Giving rise to wrong views severs wholesome roots and leads into the hells; giving rise to right views severs icchantika-hood and wards off the hells. The buddhadhātu is not active or conditioned; it cannot ward off the hells, impermanence, or the icchantika. This comprehensively answers the first three challenges.
