49.36

案僧亮曰：若依欲界四大者，依欲界定修得天眼通。悉是骨相者。天眼識能見不淨。諸法空相，見因緣相者，空有兩見也。寶亮曰：此下明天眼通。此明天眼通不但見色，亦見眾生善惡心，乃至知第一義諦故，所以作知名說也。

Sengliang states: 'Relying on the four great elements of the desire realm' means cultivating and attaining the power of the divine eye based on the concentrations of the desire realm. 'All are signs of bones' means the consciousness of the divine eye is able to see impurity. 'Empty signs of all dharmas, seeing signs of causes and conditions' means perceiving both emptiness and existence. Baoliang states: Below this, the power of the divine eye is clarified. Clarifying the divine eye here means not only seeing form, but also seeing the good and bad minds of sentient beings, up to knowing the ultimate truth; therefore it is spoken of as knowing.
