案僧亮曰：所以重問者，雖說斷漏能得涅槃常樂我淨，不說我樂自在之用，涅槃之義未彰故也。寶亮曰：次下答德王第二問也。上聞不聞中佛答六難竟，更設二問，佛答一問竟，今更舉第二問以請釋也。

Sengliang comments: The reason he asks again is that although it was said that severing defilements can attain the permanence, bliss, self, and purity of nirvāṇa, the sovereign functions of self and bliss have not been stated, and thus the meaning of nirvāṇa has not yet been made manifest. Baoliang comments: Next follows the answer to King of Virtues' second question. Above, in 'hearing and not hearing,' the Buddha finished answering the six difficulties, and two further questions were posed; the Buddha finished answering one question, and now he raises the second question to request an explanation.
