案僧亮曰：說譬以顯之也。善法日增者，是中四分說善法相，此第一也。僧宗曰：第四勸人依善知識也。以五重辨依之有益，此第一總歎也。

Sengliang comments: A simile is stated to illustrate it. 'Wholesome dharmas daily increase': in this, there are four divisions explaining the characteristics of wholesome dharmas, and this is the first. Sengzong says: The fourth encourages people to rely on a good friend. It explains the benefits of relying on them in five layers; this is the first, a general praise.
