53.46

案僧亮曰：難施能施者，作義是總，施義是別也。何者？外事橫來，能安為忍。捨由內起，能安為施也。

Sengliang states: Regarding 'being able to give what is difficult to give': the sense of 'acting' is general, while the sense of 'giving' is specific. How so? When external affairs arrive unexpectedly, being able to remain at peace is patience; giving arises from within, and being able to remain at peace is giving.
