案僧宗曰：十二因緣，生之性也。寶亮曰：此智慧於有為無為兩理上，生是緣因性也。取觀因緣之智，名緣因性。而體是避苦求樂之解，名正因性。二種雙顯也。

Sengzong comments: The twelve links of dependent origination are the nature of arising. Baoliang comments: This wisdom, arising upon both principles of the saṃskṛta and asaṃskṛta, is the nature of the contributory cause. Taking the wisdom that contemplates causes and conditions is called the nature of the contributory cause. And its substance being the understanding of avoiding suffering and seeking bliss is called the nature of the direct cause. Both types are manifested together.
