案道生曰：乖理為作有，皆因緣生也。無不因無，不果也。僧亮曰：觀智也。於正因為果，於菩提為因也。僧宗曰：取觀照之智通因果也。

Daosheng comments: Deviating from the principle creates conditioned existence, all of which arises from causes and conditions. There is nothing that is not a cause, and nothing that is not an effect. Sengliang comments: This refers to contemplative wisdom. It is an effect in relation to the direct cause, and a cause in relation to bodhi. Sengzong comments: It takes the wisdom of contemplative illumination as pervading both cause and effect.
