54.81

案僧亮曰：能知一種二種者，一是涅槃、二是生死，皆就有中差別具二乃見，不應言有皆是到。

Sengliang comments: Being able to know the one kind and the two kinds: the one is nirvāṇa, and the two is birth and death. Both are distinguished in terms of existence; it is by possessing both that one sees, and one should not say that all existence is defilement.
