案僧亮曰：觀門第三，通觀因果也。辨見聞亦異，以了為見、不了為聞。寶亮曰：第三，因果合觀也。師子吼舉百非，以明如來云何可見耶？

Sengliang comments: The third contemplative approach generally contemplates cause and fruit. It also distinguishes between seeing and hearing: resolving is 'seeing,' and not yet resolving is 'hearing.' Baoliang comments: Third is the combined contemplation of cause and fruit. Siṃhanāda raises the hundred negations to clarify: how can the Tathāgata be seen?
