55.76

案僧亮曰：借此以顯互因果義也。無明為因、行為果，自有行後還起輕煩惱，說為無明。是明輕重前後，互相生起、迭為因果，亦得重因重果義也。

Sengliang comments: He borrows this to reveal the meaning of mutual cause and fruit. Ignorance is the cause and volitional formations are the fruit; naturally, after volitional formations, minor afflictions arise again, which are described as ignorance. This clarifies that subtle and gross, preceding and succeeding, mutually give rise to one another and alternately act as cause and effect; it also obtains the meaning of repeated causes and repeated fruits.
