案僧宗曰：此取九地以還，於果義弱為了也。寶亮曰：因中六度，去佛果遠，唯得為三菩提，作了因也。

Sengzong comments: This refers to what is below the ninth stage; its efficacy toward the fruit is weak, so it is [termed] 'revealing.' Baoliang comments: The six pāramitās in the causal stage are distant from the fruit of buddhahood, so they can only serve as a revealing cause for samyaksaṃbodhi.
