56.24

案僧亮曰：含識之類厭苦求樂，性之常也。雖人天同，此性不異，雜惑名正因、除惑名緣因、無惑可除名之為佛。

Sengliang comments: Beings endowed with consciousness detest suffering and seek bliss; this is the constancy of their nature. Although humans and devas share it, this nature is no different: when mixed with delusion it is called direct cause, when eliminating delusion it is called contributory cause, and when there is no delusion left to eliminate it is called Buddha.
