案僧亮曰：若定慧之果定有性，不得增長；然從師受已，漸漸增益，知本無也。
Sengliang comments: If the result of concentration and wisdom definitely had a fixed nature, it could not increase. Yet, having received it from a master, it gradually increases; thus we know it originally did not exist.
